From scrap metal to sculpted form
I have loved art across every medium throughout my life, but my wire sculpting journey began when facing a massive pile of scrap metal at work. Troubled by industrial waste, I brought home a roll of chicken wire one weekend on pure instinct. Experimenting with its contours opened up an unexpected world of expressive, three-dimensional possibilities.
The craft and meticulous technique
Each sculpture is shaped by hand using multiple gauges of galvanised chicken wire mesh. Once formed, between six and ten layers of cold galv rust-guard paint are applied with a spray gun. Each layer introduces sharper definition, solid structural integrity, and guides subtle refinements until every line feels entirely right.
